LOOK, FEEL & LIVE BETTER
Antifragility is beyond resilience or robustness. The resilient resists shocks and stays the same; the antifragile gets better.
— Nassim Taleb, philosopher and author of Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder
Hi! We’re Troy and Taneen Delaney, creators of ANTIFRAGILE Fit. If you have ever asked yourself:
- “How can I turn setbacks into opportunities and bounce back faster?”
- “How do I become mentally and physically stronger?”
- “How do I optimize for health, longevity and performance?”
- “How can I train for the unknown and unknowable?”
- “How can I thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors?”
- “How do I move the needle on what matters most?”
Or if you just want to live a long, healthy life and exceed your potential as a human…You’re in the RIGHT place!
Living an ANTIFRAGILE Fit Life
Things that are antifragile benefit from randomness, uncertainty, and variation (aka life). The more an antifragile system gets attacked, the stronger it gets.
A classic example of something antifragile is Hydra, the Greek mythological creature that has numerous heads. When one is cut off, two grow back in its place.
Life is messy and seemingly getting messier. Can we position ourselves to gain from this disorder … to not only recover from mistakes but get stronger?
The answer is ‘YES’. There are principles we can follow to help us—core antifragility principles taken from the Antifragile book:
- Stick to simple rules
- Build in redundancy and layers (no single point of failure)
- Resist the urge to suppress randomness
- Make sure that you have your soul in the game
- Experiment and tinker — take lots of small risks
- Avoid risks that, if lost, would wipe you out completely
- Don’t get consumed by data
- Keep your options open
- Respect the old — look for habits and rules that have been around for a long time
In short, stop optimizing for today or tomorrow and start playing the long game. That means being less efficient in the short term but more effective in the long term. It’s easy to optimize for today—simply spend more money than you make or eat food that’s designed in a lab to make you eat more and more. But if you play the long game, you can set yourself up to become Antifragile fit. You position yourself to not only survive but thrive in different environments and adapt to whatever the situation requires. You experience FREEDOM and FLEXIBILITY.
Becoming ANTIFRAGILE fit is about three things:
- Experiment to see what works for you.
- Adopt what is useful.
- Evolve to your best, most authentic self.
ANITFRAGILE FIT | BEYOND RESILIENCY
If you want to excel and dominate — to separate yourself from the rest and become the last person standing in any area of life, it’s no longer enough to bounce back from an injury or failure – to simply be resilient. You have to bounce back stronger and better. You must become ANTIFRAGILE.
ANTIFRAGILE Fit means being both mentally and physically unbreakable — becoming better and stronger each day. It also means being able to adapt and thrive in any situation or condition. And above all, ANTIFRAGILE Fit goes beyond training and exercise, addressing all aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
We coach based on the methodology we call The Antifragile Cycle™.
This Cycle is a holistic, individualized approach focused on maximizing your human capability.
- Discovery or “Dial In”– This is where you learn what motivates you and makes you thrive. It’s also a deep dive into what areas of your life you need to focus on whether it be movement, nutrition sleep and other lifestyle factors that could hindering how you look, feel and function. We start with an assessment to identify your motivations and help us understand what you really need to dial in on to move the needle. We also offer in-person experiential and educational workshops along with virtual webinars.
- Fitness or “Tear Down” – We specialize in building an unbreakable body through acute exposure to mental and/or physical stress in a controlled environment. We incorporate short but intense bouts of cross-training exercises, Versatile, Resiliency & Longevity training, along with ice baths and fasting to temporarily “tear down” the body and challenge the mind. This creates an efficient and effective routine that builds antifragility. Learn about the eight ANTIFRAGILE Fitness Levers here.
- Recovery or “Build Up” your body and mind so it’s even stronger than before. We use XPT Performance Breathing, active recovery (durability and “prehab” training) along with passive recovery that includes sauna and ice to accelerate the body’s healing and adaptive response while improving mobility and decreasing inflammation. One of the most powerful nutrition tools that we use for rejuvenation and repair of the body is the ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet.
The first thing to experiment with is Time Restricted Feeding. This is probably the easiest yet impactful things you can do to improve health, longevity and performance because it has been shown to:
- Lower your risk for inflammation, hypertension and cardiovascular disease
- Improve digestion and elimination of waste
- Improve your body’s natural housekeeping and rejuvenation processes
- Improve the emptying of your glycogen stores (the sugar stored in your liver)
- Decrease fat storage, as you’re tapping into your body’s fat stores for fuel
- Improve your cells’ DNA, mitochondria, membranes and proteins
- Increase your cells’ resistance to stress and disease

I began training with Troy Delaney back in December of 2017 as a last ditch effort to avoid several long-term injuries that I believed could only be corrected with a surgical intervention. As a former all-state athlete in high school, collegiate athlete, and all around active person with multiple injuries over the years, I have had experience with strength coaches and nutritionists. I was somewhat skeptical about seeing any improvements with Troy or any type of personal trainer, but within 3 months of a custom prehab, durability training, and sauna program, all of my long term injuries were gone. So much so I bought a new set of golf clubs so I could focus on my game again as I had 7 years of shoulder pain that limited my ability to play and enjoy the game. I feel I’m approaching 40 in better shape than I was at 30, thanks to my training with Troy, and looking back feel this type of training would probably have prevented me from overtraining and leading to these injuries in the first place.
